Ceemee's Bucket List

Compile and publish my very own poetry book
I love getting inspired and composing poems. I want to share them with others, especially the ones pertaining to the Lord, that others may also see His goodness.

Start and manage our very own successful business
This enables me to have time in my hands so I could personally take care of my daughter and be there as she grows up.

Visit Ireland
I want to see the emerald hills, to see the pot of gold at the end of each rainbow and to befriend pixies and leprechauns.

Learn how to drive confidently
I have fears when driving: to be caught by the traffic enforcer, to get hit or to hit other cars, to run out of gas, to have flat or busted tires.

Grow our own vegetables and fruits
And to sell them, too! So I won't have to always buy from the market, and it seems like a good hobby. And add flowers to that!

I Love Purple!

Less than a month before my birthday. I am nearing the big 30. How time speeds up when we don't want it to. But when I was little, I felt that time goes by ever so slowly and I just couldn't wait to grow up and fulfill my dreams. Now that I'm all grown up, not all of my dreams are fulfilled yet. Someday... I hope!

Let me be a little materialistic and list down my wish list for my special day, which will fall on Easter.

A Time To Share And Enjoy

Our friend was spending her days alone in the unit she shares with her hubby. Her hubby sailed out to sea again, and it shall be months before he comes back. I was glad to see her coping, to see her independently preparing her own meals and cleaning the house. My own hubby went out of town for two days and I missed him so much already.

I, together with two other close friends went to visit her last Saturday. We took a walk around the park/market in front of their building, cooked Spaghetti together at her home, chatted about so many things that are going on in our lives, and watched their wedding video. One went home early and the rest of us just hanged out at Seattle's Best, continued chatting, took more pictures and sipped coffee, of course!

Basically, we had a really great time, in my opinion. I enjoy hanging out with my gal pals.

By February next year, I will again be a bridesmaid for another friend who's getting married soon. It's quite exciting. And it seems my daughter will be her little flower girl.

I am happy to see my friends finally poised to spend the rest of their lives with the guys that they love.

All Aboard!

We emerged from the ship hot, sweating and thirsty. I don't know if I would like to go back or not. I bought a souvenir ID lace, a Christian book and a Care Bear book for my daughter. I didn't want to have difficulty navigating through people and bumping with them anymore just to look for nice books. They even ran out of Photography books which were aligned with my hubby's interest. The prices were reasonable, though.

The staircases of the ship were not the usual rise and run. It's like a diagonal plank with evenly spaced half tube protrusions. I guess you'd know if you've been on one. It was harder going down. Whew! The crew on board were mostly foreigners. Before one buys a ticket priced at Php10, there were two mime performers there for entertainment.

It was a couple of hours after lunch when we arrived. The sun was shining brightly so I had Elhaym wear a cap and a pair of sunglasses. It's good that I brought a folding umbrella to shield us from intense sunlight as we queued a good long way from the ship. From the end of the line, we could see so many silhouettes of people milling on the deck. We almost backed out.

The ship's name is MV Doulos. It is docked on Manila shores until the end of March.

She's Back!

What's wrong with this picture?
  • Is that Kristin Kreuk??? You betcha!
  • Is she Chinese? It says here she has Chinese blood. I didn't know that!
  • She's playing Chun-Li in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. I always thought Chun-Li (in the video game) was tall.
  • I didn't know Kristin Kreuk's got BIG & chunky legs!
  • Why are they bringing back Street Fighter? I have no idea!

New Addition

There was no special occasion, just because my daughter loves Pooh and we have a Pooh lamp that was too hard to hug. Also, Pooh was the first character that she remembered and recognized.

Here's a welcoming hug...

...for the new addition to the family of stuffed toys.

TV For Tots

My daughter knows how to watch TV now. I know it isn't good for her at such a young age, but I can't cover her eyes all the time my hubby watches TV. So, whenever she says "Watch" indicating she wants to watch TV, I let her watch a little Playhouse Disney Channel shows. This is a nice channel and there isn't any ad on toys or junk food. It is purely their shows. One of the favorite shows of Elhaym is the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, a 3D animation of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Clarabelle, Pete and some cute animals. It teaches kids to count, to identify which objects to use, and knowledge of shapes. It's pretty educational and she likes to dance to the Hot dog Song in the end. I am just a bit weirded out by the words Mickey is chanting while retrieving the Mouska-tool.
And then, there's My Friends Tigger and Pooh where Darby, her dog Buster, Tigger and Pooh play detectives called the Super Sleuths and solve the mysteries in the Hundred Acre Wood. They help out their friends like Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit, Lumpy, Kanga, Roo, etc with their problems. As usual, Elhaym enjoys the songs there.
It also has a musical show. A cartoon mixed with real sceneries called Little Einsteins. It features music from Classical musicians like Beethoven, Handel and Bach. And paintings from well-known artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Monet and Rousseau. They travel to parts of the world on Rocket Ship and fulfill missions. I like it when they exclaim "Mission Completion!!!" near the end.
I think this show is for ages 3 onwards or for a kid who recognizes letters of the Alphabet and then put together to form words. So, Elhaym does not fully appreciate it yet. But I will let her watch it when she does, and if it still airs. It's called Word World. It's educational as it teaches the kids to spell, to form words. It is 3D animated and it uses a unique technique of sticking the words close to each other then it becomes the object it spells out with the letters still visible on the object. And I also like the website, they have a 3D inteactive storybook and a narrator that reads out the rhyming verses. This is perfect for children who like to use the Internet, it also has games to keep them busy.
But then, our time spent blogging could be divided with our child, unless we get her her own laptop or desktop. If we cannot afford that, then stick to the TV perhaps?

Family, SHMILY

For some, Sunday is a family day. And, yes, we spent this day together. Too bad we didn't catch the service at our church because we woke up late due to being tired from our trip to Pangasinan where we visited my hubby's relatives. We also went there for his Grandma's death month-sary prayer session. His mother's family is Catholic.

First, we took lunch with my side of the family. We had Chinese fresh lumpia, sweet & sour pork, fish fillet with broccoli, shrimp with veggies and fresh strawberries for dessert. After they played with my daughter and after she turned their house upside down, we left for my college Alma Mater - University of the Philippines. Rix and I planned to take Elhaym there for fresh air and some exercise. It's like a park, it is open and requires no entrance charge. We found parking outside one of the nearby college buildings and then we walked to the Sunken Garden where lots of people were gathered - playing soccer, playing football, having a meeting, seated under the large trees, having a picnic. While we sat on the grass, we enjoyed ice cream as Elhaym walked around. I really enjoy these moments with my very own family. I feel the coziness of love inside.

This is the Grandstand in the Sunken Garden where bands play during the annual fair or meetings are held. The grass grows in tufts, I guess it's because of the foot traffic, plus soccer practices and games are played here.

Suddenly, drops of rain were falling on us. Fortunately, we already finished our ice cream cones. So we walked across the area toward the college building where we parked. When we reached the other side, the sun immediately shone intensely. Mother Nature is sort of fickle-minded today. Basking in a bit of afternoon sun, Rix and I pretended to run after Elhaym. She gave little squeals of delight and smiled at us while she bounced away from our grasps. Then, we were homeward bound.

Rix and I went for a body massage at Hi-Life, and a cup of Coffee Jelly Frap from Starbucks after we left Elhaym with the yaya, for a little us time.

The day was spent simply, but I couldn't ask for more.

Wondering what SHMILY stands for? I got it from a story of love where a couple always writes the acronym all over the house using just about anything - See How Much I Love You.
