What the couple could have done to avoid such a tragedy:
- Not let the child watch too much TV, especially violent, crime-related ones
- Why do they have poison at home? And don't they read labels? These things should be kept out of the reach of children
- Not spoil the first child
- Give fair attention to both children
- Introduce the first child to the second baby even while still pregnant, or show pictures of babies
- Teach the first child to be gentle to the baby, and give him chances to caress, play with and help with dressing the baby
