My very first OOTD...

Shot by Elle, my 5-year-old

...And probably my last! I really NEED to exercise! And, I don't know about my pose! Ha ha! It was directed by my daughter.

I had on my super comfy Andie dress by AND Apparel from Catalogue63. I wore the Jelly Sandals I won from Mothering Earthlings. My only accessory was a ring I got from PM, a blogger.

A closer look at the Jelly Sandals:

Comfy and adds color!
Since the Andie dress has thin straps, I wore my Wacoal Bandeau underneath. It's a wear it and forget about it undergarment because I don't have to worry about it being too tight or it might slip down without the straps. It was very soft and didn't cut into my skin. I felt more confident in my dress that even though it might get accidentally pulled down by my kids, my cleavage wouldn't be visible.

When I get to buy more dresses, I would definitely invest in more Wacoal Bandeaus. I got the one in nude, there's also black and white.

My Wacoal Shapevest Experience

It was a nice day to take my Wacoal Shapevest for a spin. The cool and windy weather's perfect, I was sure the birthday party venue will be air-conditioned.
Dressing up in our closet was a bit tricky since the area is not ventilated, I got a bit lightheaded the first few minutes I was wearing the Shapevest. Like Ms. Lourdes of Wacoal said, it takes some getting used to. In fact, she was the one who recommended it to me as she was sporting one at work. She was very helpful in taking my measurements, assisting me in looking at the types of undergarment I like and giving me lessons in how to properly wear a brassiere and the correct way of cleaning it, especially ones with under-wire.
I think it did a good job of streamlining my silhouette. It boosted my confidence for around 5 hours maximum. After that, I felt the straps cutting into my skin as I carry my baby most of the time. I also chased after my toddler so I felt the bones of the Shapevest cutting into my side.
What I like about it:
  • I could wear any bra with it, even my nursing bra.
  • There are no bulges on my upper back.
  • It defines my waist and flattens my tummy and abdomen.
Even though it cannot be worn with strapless and halter tops and dresses, it's perfect for body-hugging tops and other types of dresses.

Wacoal shared this site on how to properly wear and care for the brassiere. Hope it helps all the ladies out there!

It is a great idea to invest in good underwear as it is the foundation of a good outfit, resulting in feeling good and looking good.
I am excited to try the Wacoal bandeau with detachable straps next!

Note: I was provided with Php3,000 worth of merchandise to review. The excess and the transportation expenses were shouldered by me. All opinions expressed are my own.

I want to "Be Body Beautiful" with Wacoal

After giving birth to my second baby in 2010, and to another one last year, I haven't had the time to really look in the mirror or inspect my body. I guess I was afraid of what I might see.

And I was right!

As I was smoothing on lotion on my body, I was super shocked to see how loose my skin was becoming. I know that pregnancy changes a woman's body a lot. But, I never thought it changed mine so drastically! In line with this, I also notice my already wide hips are even wider and rounder. It also seems I have lost my waist's definition somewhere. And my twin peaks! I think I am on the Stage 2 in the picture below. *shudder*

I am learning about gravity again! And how unforgiving it could be to maturing women like me.

Of course, I wouldn't be able to go against gravity now, could I? Age and gravity definitely do not mix! To sort of defy them, I just really good supports in the form of undergarments. I admit I have worn ill-fitting underwear and it does not feel good. Let alone look good in my eyes, thus my clothes don't look good either. I love that Wacoal makes intimate apparel that that not only fits women of different sizes, but also fits women of different ages. They understand that women's bodies change as time goes by and they promise to provide comfort & support that we need no matter at what age and stage we are in.

For my loose belly, great for fitted dresses and gowns
For my sagging (I kinda loathe that word) boobs, great for tank tops
For my spilling tummy and hips, great for skinny pants and fitted slacks
I want to "Be Body Beautiful" at 30 and I am happy Wacoal understands that. I am squeamish, so undergoing invasive procedures in an attempt to look young is a no-no for me.

When aging has been catching up on me, there's nothing I can do but to be candid about it. I'm reading Aunt Erma's Cope Book again and now, I think I could relate to her woes more after being a mother. She cracks me up! In the 1970's, Erma Bombeck was already talking about how people were doing everything to not look their age.

"If you had a wrinkle, you took a snip.
If something sagged, you took a tuck.
If it jiggled, firm it up.
If it stuck out, suck it in.
If it was gray, touch it up."
Isn't that so true?
